Who are we?
The Mornington Peninsula Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Association Inc was incorporated in 1996. It is non-party political, and a non-profit organisation. Membership is open to all ratepayers and residents who are 18 years and over. The McCrae Action Group is a precinct group of the Association.
Our aims and purposes are:
- To protect and advance the interests of ratepayers and residents of the Mornington Peninsula Shire;
- To maintain and secure our way of life;
- To consult with other established organisations and groups for the mutual benefit of all people on the Mornington Peninsula;
- To make representations to Council and all levels of government.
What we do/How we help our Members
- Provide advice and assist members where possible on local issues and planning matters.
- Make submissions to Government and Council on local, planning and environmental issues.
- Monitor the performance and effectiveness of Council and Councillors.
- Lobby the Government and Council for improved services and to provide value for money with our rates. - - - Representatives regularly attend Council meetings.
- Liaise with and support other community groups as requested.
- Hold public meetings as a forum to discuss and be aware of local community issues
- Inform members of important issues by email and produce a newsletter.
